How does the role feel like?

As COO, you will join TZLA's executive team, working part remotely but with extended visits to our locations across Mexico. You must maintain a professional home office and demonstrate exceptional virtual and in-person leadership.

Your mission is to work with our visionary CEO to translate strategic thinking into operational reality, optimizing all business processes and building a high-performance culture.

How does this job look like?

As COO, you must be a strategic thinker who excels at both high-level planning and hands-on execution. You'll need to be comfortable with modern management methodologies like Kanban and Lean Manufacturing and have a track record of driving organizational success.

Key Responsibilities

1. Overseeing Daily Operations

  • Conduct daily team huddles to address operational challenges and ensure alignment.
  • Implement standardized reporting systems to track departmental metrics.
  • Perform regular departmental audits and performance reviews over KPIs, to maintain accountability and transparency

2. Developing and Executing Operational Strategies

  • Design and monitor KPIs focused on production rates, quality control, and member satisfaction.
  • Lead weekly performance reviews with department leaders, using data-driven insights to drive improvement.
  • Deploy automated systems for real-time production monitoring and reporting.

3. Leading Strategic Initiatives

  • Drive initiatives to optimize production capacity beyond current targets, focusing on assembly line efficiency and quality checkpoints.
  • Establish and nurture key relationships with partners in Riviera Maya and the Chinese supply chain, including regular supplier reviews and feedback mechanisms.

4. Optimizing Business Processes

  • Map and analyze workflows in collaboration with department heads.
  • Implement and document standardized procedures to ensure compliance with operational protocols and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and documentation reviews.
  • Lead training programs to ensure all team members understand and follow protocols.

5. Managing Budgets and Resource Allocation

  • Oversee monthly budget reviews, financial planning, and resource allocation with the CFO.
  • Ensure efficient tracking of departmental expenses and its variance.

What we are looking for?

Our ideal candidate is bilingual or proficient in Spanish and English, with 10+ years of management experience. We welcome only unvaccinated applicants.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of executive management experience.
  • Proven track record in operational optimization and process improvement.
  • Strong financial acumen and business strategy skills.
  • Project management knowledge equivalent to PMP certification
  • Experience in technology organizations.
