Position Overview  

TZLA is seeking a UI/UX Design Lead to run day-to-day design execution and quality across our member and prospect journeys. Reporting to the Digital Manager, this role converts research and strategy into shippable UI, user flows, and production-ready assets across web, email, and internal tools. You will own delivery cadence, enforce design standards, and keep work moving from intake through QA without sacrificing clarity or craft.  


This is a hands-on role: you are in Figma and prototypes daily, while also managing priorities, feedback loops, and the coordination required to ship clean, consistent experiences.


Key Responsibilities  


Design Execution: Turn briefs into flows, wireframes, UI, and prototypes.  

Translate requirements into clear information architecture, journeys, and interaction patterns.  

Produce and iterate on high-fidelity UI in Figma with strong attention to detail.  

Lead user experience research, journey mapping and human-centered solution design.  


Design System & Standards: Consistency at scale.  

Build and maintain reusable components, typography, spacing rules, and pattern libraries.  

Enforce visual and UX standards across pages, emails, and in-product experiences.  


Collaboration & Delivery: Ship with speed and accountability.  

Partner with Growth, Member Experience, Operations, and Engineering to scope, ship, and validate.  

Run a lightweight design workflow (intake → draft → review → QA → release).  


Research & Iteration: Evidence-driven improvements.  

Support fast feedback loops: user testing, support signal review, and post-release iteration.  

Identify friction points and propose targeted experiments to improve conversion and activation.  


Leadership & Mentorship: Player-coach management.  

Coordinate with contractors and cross-functional partners, keep quality high, and unblock work quickly.  

Document repeatable SOPs for design workflow, QA, and handoff.


Required Skills  

6+ years in UI/UX, product design, or digital design with a portfolio that shows shipped outcomes.  

Strong ownership of end-to-end delivery: intake, iteration, QA, and handoff to engineering.  

Strong Figma capability (components, variants, auto-layout, responsive systems).  

Ability to design for conversion, onboarding, and support journeys (not just aesthetics).  

Strong written communication: clear briefs, crisp feedback, and clean documentation.  

Design Thinking workshop facilitation and coordination.


Preferred Skills  

Experience building and maintaining a design system for a fast-moving organization.  

Familiarity with CRM-based journeys and email flows (e.g., GoHighLevel or similar).  

Experience using support signals (Zendesk or equivalent) to drive UX improvements.  

Strong Notion acumen (advanced databases, views, and workflows).


Core Tech Stack  

Notion: Most of our operations go through Notion — a must for all roles.  

Design: Figma (daily), lightweight prototyping and handoff workflows.  

CRM & Automations: GoHighLevel (or comparable CRM + automation tooling).  

Communications: Telegram groups, Google Workspace.  

Support Signals: Zendesk.


KPIs You Will Own  

Time-to-ship: Reduce average design cycle time from intake to handoff by 25% within 60 days.  

Consistency: Design system adoption across priority web pages and emails, with reduced “one-off” UI patterns.  

Conversion: Improve application and key landing-page conversion rates via iterative tests and UI improvements.  

Activation: Reduce top onboarding friction points and improve week-1 engagement rate via UX refinements.
