TZLA Club is seeking a Finance Manager to own day-to-day financial operations and build the systems, controls, and reporting cadence that let leadership run the Organization with clarity and no surprises. This role reports to the Head of Operations and partners day-to-day with Accounting (Controller/Accounting Manager), Logistics/Inventory owners, Legal/Contracts stakeholders, and external advisors as needed to keep finance, reconciliations, and operational decision support tight as we scale.
Financial Operations Ownership (hands-on):
Run and improve core financial routines: reconciliations, weekly exception reviews, month-end close support, and basic management reporting
Maintain accurate financial source-of-truth in the current toolset (often Google Sheets/Excel)
Track key operational finance items that touch logistics and production (inventory, COGS, assembly cost signals, exceptions)
Systems, Controls, and Cadence (Operating model vision):
Implement a clean, auditable cadence that leadership can trust: weekly finance pulse, exceptions log, and follow-through
Build lightweight internal controls that prevent surprises (approvals, spend caps, vendor disbursement process, reimbursement standards)
Create simple dashboards that leadership can actually use (no over-engineering, high signal)
Cross-Department Enablement:
Partner with Operations and Production to keep inventory and cost signals consistent and timely
Coordinate with Legal/Contracts owners so finance implications of contracts and vendor commitments are captured early
Support org chart evolution by keeping role boundaries explicit (who owns what, when it escalates, what “done” means)
Automation and Scale-Up:
Identify and execute the fastest path to reduce manual toil via automation and tool integrations (API-friendly tools preferred)
Standardize templates, checklists, and SOPs so finance work is repeatable and delegable
Data & Accountability:
Own core metrics and ensure the numbers reconcile across departments (no duplicate truths)
Maintain an exceptions-first mindset: detect issues early, log them, resolve them, and prevent recurrence
5+ years in finance operations, accounting operations, or finance management in a high-accountability environment
Strong manual execution capability (Google Sheets/Excel, pivots, VLOOKUPs, structured trackers)
Proven experience implementing lightweight controls and operating cadences (weekly reviews, month-end routines, approvals)
Clear, direct communication, including the ability to escalate issues with crisp options and recommendations
Comfortable in ambiguity, and able to execute without perfect inputs
Experience in manufacturing/assembly environments (inventory, COGS, production cost signals)
Experience working with fast-moving founders/operators, where role boundaries evolve
Familiarity with crypto-adjacent financial workflows (as applicable to TZLA’s reality)
Familiarity with TZLA’s stack and operating style (Notion + Telegram + Google Workspace)
Notion: Our operating system for documentation, SOPs, trackers, and dashboards
Spreadsheets: Google Sheets / Excel (must be excellent here)
Comms: Telegram groups, Google Workspace
Finance Tools: Evolving (expect transition and tool selection work)
Reconciliation completeness (weekly and month-end) with documented exceptions
Timeliness of leadership reporting cadence (weekly pulse delivered on schedule)
Reduction of manual toil (hours saved via automation/systemization)
Spend visibility (approved vs. unapproved exceptions, tracked and resolved)
